Aleksey Aluf was born in Kharkov, Ukraine in 1981, and moved to Edmonds, Washington
at the age of 12. This challenging time of change, transition and travel has had a strong
influence on the artist. Aleksey attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond,
VA, and obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art education in 2004.
Since then he has been working as an art teacher for Edmonds School District. He is passionate about introducing and teaching art to young people, and hopes to grow and mature in his teaching career. Along with teaching, Aleksey spent many hours working with acrylics and mixed media at Edmonds Community College.
Aleksey loves teaching art to all ages, and is available as a private teacher or instructor for group lessons. He is also willing to make commission paintings. Aleksey believes art should be fun, and a great educational experience.
